To secure your booking, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required. The remaining balance must be paid by the following deadlines:
Personal Chef Services: Final payment is due 72 hours before the event.
Catering Services: Final payment is due 7 days before the event.
Personal Chef Services must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance.
Catering Services must be booked at least 3-4 weeks in advance.
Last-minute requests (booked less than the required notice period) may be accommodated with an additional rush fee, based on availability.
We accept payments via:
Debit/Credit Cards
Bank Transfers
Online Payment Links
Cash payments are not accepted to ensure security and proper documentation.
If the final payment is not received by the deadline:
A late fee of 2% will be applied.
If payment is not received within 24 hours past the deadline, the event will be automatically canceled, and no refunds will be issued.
For last-minute bookings, failure to pay in full upon confirmation will result in immediate cancellation.
Deposits are non-refundable as they secure your event date and planning time.
Refunds for final payments will be honored only if cancellations are made within the timeframes listed below:
Personal Chef Services: Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the event will receive a refund of the final payment (excluding the deposit).
Catering Services: Cancellations made at least 3 days before the event will receive a refund of the final payment (excluding the deposit).
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made past these deadlines.
Service provided within 25 miles of Charleston, SC will incur a flat rate travel fee.
Events beyond 25 miles (up to 50 miles total) will incur an additional travel fee based on distance.
Events exceeding 50 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis with additional fees.
In the rare event that Chef Shon must cancel services due to emergency, illness, or unforeseen circumstances beyond control, clients will receive a full refund, including any deposits paid. Whenever possible, clients will be offered the option to reschedule for a future date or receive a referral to a trusted chef or catering partner.
Chef Shon is committed to clear communication and professionalism. No further liability shall extend beyond the refund or rescheduling options provided.
Chef Shon shall not be held responsible for cancellations or delays caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather, acts of government, public health emergencies, or other force majeure events.
In such cases, reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule the event for a mutually agreed-upon date. If rescheduling is not possible, refunds or credits will be determined at Chef Shon’s discretion, based on the extent of work completed, materials purchased, and preparations made prior to cancellation.
